A New Partnership
Design the home
you actually live in.
Jon Pierre and Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin have spent years turning houses into homes. Now they're bringing that perspective to Homekynd — helping real families visualize, design, and love their spaces before spending a dime.
"A home should welcome you in, not impress you from afar."
— Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin
Who They Are
Built on real homes.
And real life.
Jon Pierre and Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin have been married for 17 years and building homes together for most of that time. What started as a foreclosure purchase and a whole lot of DIY became the home where they raised their family — and the foundation for everything they do today.
Their brand, TJPs On The Prairie, documents life in South Dakota through five pillars: home design, real estate, family, entrepreneurship, and authenticity. As HGTV's "Going for Sold" hosts, they've brought that story to millions — and now they're bringing it here.
20+ years in hospitality and travel. Designs from a place of feeling — texture, plants, salvaged pieces, and quiet details that make a space feel soulful.
Left a 15-year oil career to follow his passion. A hands-on renovator and real estate investor who brings patience, precision, and heart to every project.

The Partnership
"Homes should feel lived in, loved, and truly personal."
Jon Pierre & Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin
Why this makes
sense.
Jon and Mary don't design for the showroom. They design for the Sunday morning. The homework spread across the kitchen table. The front porch that actually gets used. Their entire philosophy centers on spaces that reflect how a family really lives — not how they think they should.
That's exactly what Homekynd was built to support. Our design tools aren't about making picture-perfect rooms. They're about helping real people — people like the TJPs — make confident decisions about the spaces they come home to every day.
